Delta Sigma Pi was founded in 1907 at New York University: School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance by Harold Valentine Jacobs, Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello and Henry Albert Tienken. Today, coast to coast, more than 250 chapters and over 200,000 members support the goals and ideals of the Fraternity.

Purpose
Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.
Historic Diversity
For more than 90 years, Delta Sigma Pi has encouraged, supported, and shaped the professional goals and personal aspirations of thousands of members. It is quite simply the foremost professional fraternity for men and women pursuing business careers.Devoted to promoting competency and achievement within the field of business, Delta Sigma Pi also facilitates social activity among students, the community, and business organizations. Our purposeful philosophy encompasses all religious and cultural affiliations, includes both men and women, and reaches from coast to coast with over 250 collegiate and alumni chapters and nearly 200,000 members.
Professional Evolution
Progressing from student to young professional to seasoned business performer, members of Delta Sigma Pi grow far beyond classroom theory through real-life managerial and leadership experience. Demonstrating continuing commitment to progress, growth, and excellence, Delta Sigma Pi funds many educational programs through the Delta Sigma Pi Leadership Foundation, a 501c(3) charitable organization formed to support educational, leadership and scholastic endeavors. It extends financial assistance for scholarships, leadership development and training, and personal and professional improvement of the Fraternity and its members. Funded by individual and corporate contributions, the Leadership Foundation offers many levels of participation for students, alumni, friends and corporate sponsors.
